The Witcher Season 4 Teaser: Liam Hemsworth Wrecks A Wraith As Netflix’s New Geralt Of Rivia

The Wheel Of Time has stopped turning (*sigh*), The Rings Of Power and House Of The Dragon are in the middle of their bi-annual hibernation, and A Knight Of The Seven Kingdoms isn't coming until the new year now, but fear not fantasy fans: there's a new Witcher right around the corner. And there is also a new Witcher right around the corner, too. Yes, ahead of the release of The Witcher Season 4 on Netflix this October, the streamer has just dropped a teaser of Liam Hemsworth in action as the Aussie actor prepares to take up Henry Cavill's sword and silver wig to play fêted monster hunter Geralt of Rivia. Check out some Witcher-on-wraith action below;
Not bad, not bad at all. Sure, it's going to take some time to realign as we prepare a return to The Continent without the Cavillrine grunting "Fuck..." every five minutes in his inimitable way, but in just over a minute here Hemsworth throws himself into his new role and acquits himself pretty nicely: his grizzly Brit accent ain't half bad and his swordplay is slick, so that's half the battle already won. As for how he'll fare sharing the screen with Ciri (Freya Allen) and Jennifer (Anya Chalotra) however? Well, that very much remains to be seen, and could be for quite some time given the way that Season 3's ending so dramatically split up our favourite dysfunctional fantasy trio.
The official synopsis for Season 4, which is also set to introduce Laurence Fishburne as book and video game fan favourite Regis (pictured below), reads as follows: "After the Continent-altering events of Season 3, Geralt, Yennefer, and Ciri find themselves separated by a raging war and countless enemies. As their paths diverge and their goals sharpen, they encounter unexpected allies eager to join their journeys. And if they can accept these found families, they just might have a chance at reuniting for good…"
With The Witcher's fourth and fifth seasons set to bring Netflix's epic fantasy series to an end, adapting the final three books in Andrzej Sapkowski's saga (Baptism Of Fire, The Tower Of The Swallow, and Lady Of The Lake), there is still a lot to unpack, uncover, and resolve before the White Wolf howls his last. The first stop on the path to answers is fast approaching though: The Witcher Season 4 hits Netflix in just over a month's time on 30 October. All together now, Toss a coin to your Witcher, O valley of plenty, O valley of plenty...
