Wednesday: Season 2 Part 2 Trailer Brings Back A Dead Character, And Teases Lady Gaga Arrival

There’s plenty going on in Wednesday Season 2. (Perhaps a little too much.) Jenna Ortega's Wednesday is suffering from gooey black eye-bleeds after using her psychic powers, there’s a death sentence hanging over Enid’s head, Morticia and Gomez Addams are now a much bigger presence on Nevermore Academy campus, there’s a whole swathe of new characters including Steve Buscemi's new headteacher, and Pugsley has unleashed a brain-munching zombie on the school grounds. That’s just scratching the surface. But as the trailer for Part 2 of the season reveals, there’s plenty more to come in the concluding four episodes – including the return of a familiar face who fans won’t be expecting.

Principal Weems?! Yes, Gwendoline Christie is returning in the next instalment, despite having perished in Season 1 – the former Nevermore Academy headteacher is Wednesday’s new Spirit Guide, appearing to her in visions. The trailer also shows where some of the ongoing plot threads are going, with the zombie slowly regaining flesh the more victims he chomps, an epic ‘Pilgrim World’ carnival on the way, and fresh chaos with Fred Armisen’s glorious Uncle Fester.

Most notably, there’s a familiar voice in the final moments that fans will be clamouring for. Lady Gaga is confirmed to appear this season, and didn’t show up in Part 1. She’s not glimpsed here, either (as far as we know). But that does appear to be her voice intoning, ominously: “Beware… there will be a price to pay.” Paws up, little monsters! We know, too, that Gaga is releasing a tie-in single for Wednesday titled ‘Dead Dance’, with a music video reportedly shot by Burton. It’s a glorious time to be on the altogether ooky side of things. Wednesday Season 2 Part 2 comes to Netflix from 3 September.
