Zero Day Trailer: Robert De Niro’s Former President Hunts Cyber Terrorists In Netflix Thriller

There’s plenty of Robert De Niro to go around at the moment. Following last week’s debut of The Alto Knights trailer – which featured two De Niros for the price of one – we now have a fresh teaser for his upcoming Netflix limited series, Zero Day. Sadly, there’s only one De Niro here. But it finds him in serious form, going Presidential in a political thriller with a hooky premise. He plays George Mullen, a former POTUS who – after a devastating cyber attack on US soil known as ‘Zero Day’ – is forced with hunting down the perpetrators. That’s because the attackers have promised more violence, a ticking clock element as Mullen looks for the truth. Watch the trailer:

Well, between this and Captain America: Brave New World, it seems February will be the month of ‘America has a problem’ storytelling. And what a fitting week for this trailer to have dropped. Beyond De Niro, Zero Day boasts a mightily impressive cast: Angela Bassett stars as now-President Evelyn Mitchell; Dan Stevens looks to be stoking up fear as broadcaster Evan Green; plus we have Jesse Plemons, Lizzy Caplan, Bill Camp, Connie Britton, Matthew Modine, and Clark Gregg in the mix. Even by Netflix standards, that’s a starry line-up. The series is created by Eric Newman, whose other Netflix producing credits include Narcos, Griselda, and this year’s American Primeval.

Can De Niro catch the baddies? Are the calls coming from inside the (White) house? Is there a Red Hulk involved? We’ll find out when Zero Day streams on Netflix from 20 February.
