Ben Affleck Crunches Numbers — And Bones — With Jon Bernthal In The Accountant 2 First-Look Photos

It's been almost a decade since _The Accountant_first introduced the world to Ben Affleck's autistic hitman Christian Wolff. A modest success when it came out in 2016, Gavin O'Connor's financial thriller has enjoyed a renaissance on streaming in the years since its release, with the exploits of the calculated, calculating killer winning the movie a loyal fanbase — and a full-blown sequel. Yes, 2025 is set to see The Accountant 2 hit our screens, with O'Connor back in the director's chair, Bill Dubuque once again handling the script, and Affleck returning alongside on-screen brother Brax (Jon Bernthal), U.S. Treasury investigator Ray King (J.K. Simmons), and Treasury Deputy Director Marybeth Medina (Cynthia Addai-Robinson). For a first look at the gang back in action, check out the new photos from the film that Amazon released earlier today: The Accountant 2

Christian and Brax shooting the breeze and, well, shooting the guns. Ray meeting newcomer Anais (Daniella Pineda) in a dive bar. Marybeth doing some heavy duty investigative work. A double Brax shot. Yeah, we've done the math and it all adds up to a certified banger inbound. Or, at least, that's what we're hoping. These shots and the official synopsis for the film certainly have our curiosity: "When her former boss is killed by unknown assassins, Treasury Agent Marybeth Medina (Addai-Robinson) is forced to contact Christian Wolff (Affleck) to solve the murder. With the help of his estranged but highly lethal brother Brax (Bernthal), Chris applies his brilliant mind and less-than-legal methods to piece together the unsolved puzzle. As they get closer to the truth, the trio draw the attention of some of the most ruthless killers alive — all intent on putting a stop to their search."

We can look forward to finding out whether Wolff's comeback lands as a real return on fans' investment — or if it makes for a taxing watch — when The Accountant 2 hits cinemas on 25 April.
