Despite not being as widely known, Dimitri in Anastasia is a better Disney prince than all those who came before and after the Russian con man. That's right, Dimitri is a Disney prince and that's not just because Anastasia hits the same familiar beats of those classic animated Disney movies. In 2019, Disney acquired most of 21st Century Fox's assets, including 20th Century Studios and its vast library, making Anastasia, officially, a Disney movie. This is somewhat ironic considering how fiercely Disney originally warred against Anastasia upon release, concerned that the film would dip into their territory (via EW).
