The DCU Is Beating The MCU To A Project Marvel Has Set Up For Years
Marvel Studios has been setting up a new superhero team for the MCU, but DC Studios may have beaten Marvel to the punch by confirming a new DCU team.
DC Studios' confirmation of a Teen Titans project proves that the DC Universe has already beaten the Marvel Cinematic Universe to the punch. Following the hiring of filmmaker James Gunn and producer Peter Safran as co-CEOs of DC Studios in November 2022, the former announced a reboot of the DCEU into the new DCU the following January. During this announcement, ten movies and TV series were confirmed to be in development, fleshing out the DCU's Chapter 1, "Gods and Monsters", but even more projects have been confirmed since then, including Matt Reeves' Arkham series, Peacemaker season 2 and Teen Titans.
