Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind Is the Most Honest Relationship Movie
20 years after it hit theaters, Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind remains a classic relationship film to date.
Hollywood romantic dramas tend to portray love and relationships as idealistic and flawless with the only obstacle standing in their way tending to be some kind of third party or outside force. Sometimes a couple knows they should be together in a film, until the ex-boyfriend or ex-girlfriend who threatens to destroy their white picket fence enters. In another scenario, it could be the meddling parents who feel one of the respective members of this union isn't right for the other. What proves to be more true in real life and much less "Hollywood" is an imperfect love that has its ups and downs, where the couple involved has to confront their issues and problems.
