Dragon's Dogma 2 Review: "A Wonderful Journey, & A True Novelty"
Dragon’s Dogma 2 is guaranteed to take you on a memorable and immersive adventure, but it’s liable to include a few hiccups along the way.
Dragon's Dogma 2 is not a game meant to be played at a breakneck pace, which is unfortunately how I experienced it. Capcom's RPG wants you to be immersed; its world is deliberately laid out, and every journey beyond the relative safety of a city or town's walls brings something unexpected. While the latent mystery results in a rewarding, almost recursive gameplay loop, it also lends an atmosphere that is generally obscure, where the commitment to the drudgery of medieval fantasy becomes unwieldy amid the simplicity of certain systems.
