Netflix's Avatar: The Last Airbender found an excellent actor to play Aang in Gordon Cormier, who perfectly portrays Aang's bright persona down to some of his smallest mannerisms. Like the animated Nickelodeon show upon which it is based, Netflix's Avatar follows the cheerful, unlikely hero Aang, who must become the Avatar his world desperately needs and end the Fire Nation's tyrannical rule. Being able to portray a beloved character is always a challenge, especially one that was written for another medium. However, this is something that most of the new cast members manage well enough.
