American Horror Story, the horror anthology series created by Ryan Murphy, has been scaring and entertaining fans since 2011. A blend of horror, sex, societal commentary, and graphic violence, it tackles every horror subgenre you can think of, from 1980s slasher flicks, to witches and haunted houses, to yes, even political cults. American Horror Story is by no means a perfect show. It's been an up-and-down roller coaster in terms of quality, with some seasons faring better and more frightening than others.
