Zachary Levi’s new movie, Harold and the Purple Crayon, is weirdly similar to a popular SpongeBob SquarePants episode that aired 22 years ago. Directed by Carlos Saldanha, Harold and the Purple Crayon is based on the 1955 children’s book of the same name by Crockett Johnson, but with a couple of twists to modernize it. Harold and the Purple Crayon mixes animation with live-action performances to tell the story of Harold (Levi) a literary character who, unlike many of his kind, has grown up through the years.
