John Wick producer David Leitch teases the franchise potential behind his and Donnie Yen's Kung Fu reboot as the movie enters development.
On the heels of the reboot's announcement, David Leitch is already teasing the potential for a new Kung Fu franchise. Having launched with the David Carradine-led martial arts Western drama show in the '70s, it continued with a made-for-TV movie starring Carradine, a sequel pilot led by Brandon Lee and a third show starring Carradine as the grandson of his original character. Kung Fu was rebooted for The CW with a Chinese-American female lead, which ran for three well-received seasons before being cancelled, only for a movie reboot to be announced with Leitch directing and Donnie Yen starring.
