Uma Thurman Joins Michael C. Hall For Dexter: Resurrections Series At Paramount+

WARNING: This article contains spoilers for Dexter: New Blood.

It may have been almost four years now since Michael C. Hall's Dexter Morgan was both figuratively and literally put on ice during the dramatic climax of Dexter: New Blood, but the crime solving serial killer and his namesake franchise have scarcely been more alive. With Paramount+ and Showtime prequel series Dexter: Original Sin already proving a hit with fans and critics alike, production is already underway on Dexter: Resurrections, a present day sequel series set after New Blood's trigger happy ending. And in a major casting coup, none other than Beatrix Kiddo herself, Uma Thurman, has joined the show as a series regular.

Oscar and Emmy nominated actor Thurman, who has most recently lent her talents to Paul Schrader's upcoming Richard Gere and Jacob Elordi co-starrer Oh, Canada and Prime Video's Red, White & Royal Blue, is set to play the mononymous Charley in Dexter: Resurrections. A former Special Ops officer and current Head of Security for enigmatic billionaire Leon Prater, Charley — an all-new character whose skillset sits well within Kill Bill star Thurman's wheelhouse — is described as "resourceful" and "meticulous", a right-hand woman with plenty of industry experience at her disposal. She'll appear alongside Hall's Dexter Morgan in the show as well as franchise returnees David Zayas, James Remar and Jack Alcott, who respectively play Detective Angel Batista, Dexter’s father Harry, and his son Harrison Morgan.

Plot specifics for the series, created by showrunner Clyde Phillips, remain firmly under wraps for the time being. But with the series set to air this summer, Dexter: Original Sin sowing the seeds for our main man Dexter to cheat death once again, and Thurman adding some serious star power to the sequel show's cast, our Dark Passengers are ready to be taken on a hell of a journey when Mr Morgan returns to our screens. And with multiple further spin-offs to the DTU (that's Dexter Televisual Universe) still in the offing, there's plenty of murderous roads for us to travel down yet — yippee!
