The introduction of Marvel Studios' mutant characters in the X-Men reboot in the MCU could set up a tragic ending for one of the franchise's strongest and most controversial Avengers. Marvel Studios began to integrate mutants into the MCU after Disney acquired 20th Century Fox's properties in 2019, beginning with Ms. Marvel's Kamala Khan and Black Panther: Wakanda Forever's Namor. This has been a slow process so far, but 2024's Deadpool & Wolverine and Marvel Studios' upcoming X-Men reboot are expected to bring mutants into the MCU en masse, introducing new versions of some of Marvel Comics' most popular superheroes.
