South Park Season 27’s Delays Make A 16-Year Streak Harder To Maintain
Although the satirical cartoon has spent 16 years ignoring a major politician, South Park season 27 will almost certainly break this streak.
While South Park has managed a pretty impressive sixteen-year streak in the show’s recent history, season 27’s delayed release will make this tough to maintain. South Park didn’t start life as a topical satirical series. Originally, the show was a gorier, sillier affair, with random humor and shock value being its main focus. It was only in season 4 that South Park started to take advantage of the show’s unique production process in earnest. Since every South Park episode is written, produced, and animated in a mere five days, the show is perfectly suited to extremely timely satire.
