If you love sci-fi dystopias and spiralling murder mysteries, Apple TV+ series Silo was a major treat – combining both in its tale of a group of humans surviving from a mysterious apocalypse in a giant underground bunker, while also dealing with systemic corruption in its labyrinthine workings. And while we won’t spill any of the beans here, that first season set up tantalising mysteries, offered up a few gasp-worthy reveals, while still leaving plenty to uncover in future seasons. Now, the show – adapted from Hugh Howey’s Wool trilogy of novels – is back for Season 2 on Apple TV+, and it’s about to reveal more of the big picture. Give the new trailer a watch here:
We’ll get into some Season 1 spoiler territory here, so if you’re yet to see the first run of Silo (and you really should, it’s fantastic), then go and do that right now. SPOILER WARNING.
Since the previous season ended with Rebecca Ferguson’s Juliette leave the Silo only to discover that the world is, indeed, a dead wasteland – and, more notably, that there are several other silos in the immediate vicinity – it looks like Season 2 will continue her journey into the unknown, uncovering more of exactly what went on all those years ago to send humanity into those shelters. But there are more machinations within the silo too, with Tim Robbins’ nefarious boss Bernard claiming Juliette to be dead and looking to quell a potential uprising, before the truth about her survival looks to rock the foundations of the society within. And what exactly did he mean by: “I’m more afraid of what she saw”?
The new season sees Steve Zahn join the cast, while Graham Yost is once again on showrunner duties. Prepare to uncover more secrets of the silo – and beyond the silo too – when Silo Season 2 begins streaming on Apple TV+ from 15 November.
