Team Ninja just knocked a new PS5 exclusive out of the park. Rise of the Ronin offers a busy and beautiful open-world samurai sandbox to explore while adding a few smart new ideas to the genre. Even in the shadow of Sucker Punch Productions’ beloved exclusive Ghost of Tsushima – a game to which it will inevitably draw quick comparison – Rise of the Ronin forges its own confident identity, built around a unique span of Japanese history which remains largely underexplored in gaming.
