New Dungeons & Dragons Game Chose The Wrong Official Setting
Several Dungeons & Dragons based games are in development. One combines survival, action RPG, and life sim gameplay, but it chose the wrong setting.
Developer Gameloft, best known for its mobile games before the release of Disney Dreamlight Valley, announced it is working on a Dungeons & Dragons game that incorporates survival, life sim, and action RPG elements, but the campaign world Gameloft selected is not the best fit for these genres. The currently unnamed title is set in Forgotten Realms, which is certainly the most popular DnD campaign world and the closest thing to a 5e DnD default setting. Despite its familiarity, the world of Aebir-Toril is less suited to survival gameplay than the deserts of Athas, the DnD Dark Sun setting.
