Ncuti Gatwa is beginning a new era as the Fifteenth Doctor, but his season already parallels a much earlier Doctor in a very exciting way.
Although Doctor Who season 14 is not set to premiere until May 11, 2024, the recently released official trailer sheds quite a bit of light on what the new season will be like, and there is one particular detail present in the trailer that connects Ncuti Gatwa's Fifteenth Doctor to one of the earliest iterations, the Third Doctor. Gatwa was announced as the Fifteenth Doctor back in May 2022, and most recently made his debut in the iconic role in December 2023 during the Doctor Who 60th anniversary episodes. Now, anticipation is high as his season nears its premiere.
