Nautilus: Captain Nemo Origin Story Series To Dock On UK Screens This October

While it was originally touted as one of the big new series in development at Disney+, Nautilus hit choppy development waters and ended up in Davey Jones' turnaround locker. Fortunately for those of us in the UK and Ireland the show — inspired by Jules Verne’s Twenty Thousand Leagues Under The Sea – has been picked up by Prime Video and is due to sail onto screens this October.

Nautilus has James Dormer at its creative helm and chronicles the origin story of Captain Nemo (Star Trek: Discovery and Toast Of London's Shazad Latif): an Indian Prince robbed of his birthright and family.

So he does what surely any of us would — he steals a formidable prototype submarine and escapes into the Indian Ocean with a ragtag crew, determined to enact revenge against the ruthless East India Mercantile Company.

The cast for the new show also features Georgia Flood, Thierry Fremont and Céline Menville, with guest appearances from Richard E. Grant, Anna Torv and Noah Taylor. We're promised much adventure on (and under) the high seas, with the 10 episodes Nautilus finally making their way to UK/Irish screens on 25 October. null
