Leia Was The Real "New Hope" In The Star Wars Original Trilogy - Not Luke
Luke Skywalker is meant to be the main character of A New Hope, but Leia Organa ended up doing far more for the Star Wars galaxy than him.
Star Wars A New Hope seemingly presented Luke Skywalker as the galaxy’s last hope, but his sister, Leia Organa, arguably did far more to bring down the Empire than he did. Mark Hamill’s Luke made for a great main character in the original trilogy; he went from being a lowly moisture farmer to the galaxy’s savior in just a few days. On the other hand, Carrie Fisher’s Princess Leia had a far more prestigious upbringing than her brother’s. So, while Luke only joined the Rebellion at nineteen, the Rebellion had always been a part of Leia’s life.
