Daniel Craig And Josh O’Connor Star In First Look At Wake Up Dead Man: A Knives Out Mystery

He outfoxed a cable knit wearing Chris Evans in Knives Out. He outsmarted Edward Norton's vainglorious billionaire buffoon Miles Bron in Glass Onion. And in Rian Johnson's upcoming murder mystery threequel Wake Up Dead Man: A Knives Out Mystery, it looks like Daniel Craig's Foghorn Leghorn-accented sleuth Benoit Blanc might be gearing up to face the Almighty itself. But fear not, dear reader, as Blanc won't be going to church on his lonesome. In a newly released first-look image from Johnson's hotly anticipated sequel, we see Craig's Blanc stood in God's house with a collar-sporting, clergyman Josh O'Connor. Check it out below;

Stained glass windows. A sombre looking Blanc and a concerned looking O'Connor. That apocalyptic, Jesus beckoning U2 track for a title. The Gothic looking font on the title treatment. Is it just us or is Johnson teeing up something spooky — perhaps even supernatural — for Benoit Blanc's self-described "most dangerous case yet"? Well that, despite our best sleuthing efforts, we do not know (though Johnson did say "See you on the other side" when revealing the first photo of Craig on set a few months back...) What we do know however is that the line-up of potential killers and victims third time around is possibly Johnson's starriest array yet, boasting *deep breath* the aforementioned O' Connor, Cailee Spaeny, Andrew Scott, Glenn Close, Kerry Washington, Josh Brolin, Thomas Haden Church, Jeremy Renner, and Mila Kunis. Hoo boy!

With the similarly starry second season of Johnson's other sleuthing series Poker Face also set to hit our screens in 2025, The Last Jedi director is showing no signs of slowing down as he barrels towards his Benoit Blanc trilogy capper. And while we wait for Johnson to fill the proverbial donut hole of his latest murder mystery for us later this year, we're off to order a fresh batch of red string, some pins, and a big ol' cork board as we try to convince the masses that Blanc's about to go all Scooby-Doo on us.
