Alan Ritchson Mounts An Undercover Rescue Mission In Explosive Reacher Season 3 Trailer

Across two whole seasons of Prime Video's Reacher, Alan Ritchson's titular man mountain and ex-military hero Jack Reacher has always been the biggest fish in any pond/barfight/brawl he's found himself in. But when the first teaser for the upcoming third season of Amazon's hugely popular, Lee Child book based thriller dropped last month, it brought with it a being so huge he makes Ritchson's man mountain look more like a man molehill: seven-foot-two bodybuilder Olivier Richter's Paulie. Now, in the latest trailer for the series ahead, we're getting a better look at Reacher, Paulie, and what looks set to be our pan-handed protagonist's highest stakes mission yet. Check it out below:

Well, well, well... it looks like before Paulie and Reacher come to blows, they're set to share their own Galinda/Elphaba frenemy arc. In this new look at Reacher S3, we see our man Jack confronted with a figure from his past long since presumed dead, taking on an undercover assignment to expose a dodgy rug import dealership, and — while trying to rescue a DEA informant — cosying up to aforementioned capital 'U' Unit Paulie. Said cosying up mostly involves a spot of arm-wrestling, some gentle gym-based roasting, and an extended look at the fight we saw in the first teaser — only this time we get a fist-pump worthy "You should've seen the other guy" style shot of a bloodied Paulie to suggest our David is probably going to find a way to conquer his 7'2" Goliath eventually.

And as if that weren't enough to be going on with, this tone-setter for the third season — which is set to adapt Persuader, Child's seventh Jack Reacher book — also gives us some classic Reacher and Neagley (Maria Sten) back-and-forth, plenty of high-octane action, and several tantalising glimpses of Anthony Michael Hall's baddie Zachary Beck and other newcomers including Sonya Cassidy, Brian Tee, Johnny Berchtold, and Robert Montesinos.

Here's the official synopsis for Reacher Season 3: "In the third season of the action-packed series, Reacher (Alan Ritchson) hurtles into the dark heart of a vast criminal enterprise when trying to rescue an undercover DEA informant whose time is running out. There he finds a world of secrecy and violence—and confronts some unfinished business from his own past."

With Reacher Season 4 already confirmed to be in the works and a Neagley spin-off also heading our way soon, as we inch ever closer to Reacher Season 3's 20 February Prime Video premiere it looks like writer-showrunner Nick Sanotra is only just getting started with Jack Reacher. And though book fans will be used to hearing how Reacher said nothing, we say bring it on — Paulie and all!
