Despite the initial delay of the 2023–2024 television season, Abbott Elementary returned to ABC on February 7 with a hysterical, yet thoughtful premiere that shook up the school. Chris Perfetti's Jacob Hill encouraged Janine to take a temporary position with the district in the hopes she could make a positive impact. While Jacob misses his best friend, Perfetti believes that the character is coping as well as he can.
