You know how it is: you turn up to your place of employment, clock in, flip into an entire other distinct personality that resides somewhere within your severed mind, [MASSIVE BLANK PERIOD HERE], and then head home again. That’s working life! But wouldn’t it be better if your extremely secret 9-to-5 was soundtracked by sparse and spooky piano loops? Well, we have good news – there’s an official eight-hour loop of Lumon-approved tunes to soundtrack your work, which is both mysterious and important.
The ‘Music To Refine To’ set is “designed for eight hours of focus”, split into the most important parts of a Lumon working day, from ‘MDR File Assignment’ and ‘Revere Kier’, to ‘Purify Data’. Oh, and you’d better believe there’s a ‘Music Dance Experience’ in there (at 3: 38:45 precisely). The full thing comes with Severance-floor visuals, for the full effect. Carved watermelon heads are not provided.
Severance Season 2 is currently unfolding weekly on Apple TV+, with four episodes left to arrive – and this isn’t the first bit of Lumon lore to manifest itself in the real world. Episode 3 coincided with the digital release of (eight chapters of) Ricken’s self-help book ‘The You You Are’, as well as an hour-plus audiobook version to listen to. You too can live the, er, dream of the innie/outie life. Or at least speed up the wait for new episodes every Friday.
