Sam Neill To Join The MonsterVerse in Godzilla x Kong Sequel

Sam Neill is a man used to gazing upon remarkable creatures in movies – but with his next role, he’ll be swapping out brachiosauruses and velociraptors for massive apes and killer kaiju. Yes, the Jurassic Park legend has been confirmed as the latest addition to the cast of Legendary’s next MonsterVerse movie, following up 2024’s Godzilla x Kong: The New Empire, which is the highest-grossing instalment in the franchise so far.

No details have been released yet on who Neill will play, but we do know that he’s joining Kaitlyn Dever, Jack O’Connell, Delroy Lindo, Stranger Things’ Matthew Modine and Apple Cider Vinegar’s Alycia Debnam-Carey in the film. We also know that Dan Stevens will be back, returning to the role of kaiju veterinarian Trapper Beasley.

Godzilla x Kong: The New Empire ended with an epic battle in the Hollow Earth between Godzilla, Kong and menacing giant ape antagonist, the Skar King. They took him down with some help from Mothra, who was awakened by last surviving member of the Skull Island Iwi tribe Jia, and we left the titular Titans with Kong as ruler of the giant apes in the Hollow Earth, and Godzilla curled up in the colosseum on the surface. The new sequel is set to introduce a number of new human characters, and unite Godzilla and Kong once again to face a potentially world-ending threat. Shang-Chi scribe Dave Callaham is on script duty, and Grant Sputore takes over from Adam Wingard as director.
