Harry Potter HBO Series Bringing Warwick Davis Back As Professor Flitwick

Since it’s the first of September, it’s officially Back To Hogwarts day – and that’s the case, too, for one of the original cast members from the films. Because, to mark Harry Potter fan day, more casting has been confirmed for HBO’s incoming Harry Potter series, currently in production – and it’s been revealed that Warwick Davis will be going back to magic school.

Davis will be reprising his role of Professor Flitwick, the Charms teacher,  a role which he portrayed in the big-screen adaptation across the entire saga. Davis also portrayed goblin character Griphook in the films, but he won’t be taking that part in the series – it’s been announced that Leigh Gill, previously seen in Joker and its sequel Folie À Deux, will appear in that role. Other incoming casting includes Sirine Saba as Herbology teacher Professor Sprout, Brid Brennan as the Hospital Wing nurse Madam Pomfrey, and Richard Durden as ghostly History Of Magic teacher Professor Binns – a character from the books who never appeared in the films. The series has also cast Elijah Oshin as Harry’s classmate Dean Thomas, and Finn Stephens and William Nash as Malfoy’s cronies, Crabbe and Goyle.

The HBO series will present a fresh adaptation of the Harry Potter books, from showrunner Francesca Gardiner, and director Mark Mylod. It’s now shooting, and expected to debut in 2027. Now, who can show the way to Platform 9 3/4?
