Ghostbusters: Frozen Empire easily wins the weekend, and the follow-up to Ghostbusters: Afterlife actually outperformed its predecessor… but just barely. According to The Numbers, Frozen Empire made an estimated $45.2 million over its opening weekend to take the No. 1 spot at the domestic box office. In 2021, Afterlife made $44 million by comparison en route to $204.3 million total for its theatrical run globally.
