While Alec Baldwin and Geena Davis are missing from Beetlejuice 2’s returning cast members, the sequel's first teaser trailer confirms that their characters’ absences can’t go unexplained. Tim Burton’s 1988 Beetlejuice movie starred Baldwin and Davis as the recently deceased married couple Adam and Barbara Maitland, whose deaths left them trapped in their home with a new family very different from themselves. Considering the Maitlands were still co-habitating with the Deetzes in Beetlejuice’s ending and had another 125 years left in the home, the actors’ Beetlejuice 2 absence has raised some important questions.
